In this privacy policy:
“we”, “us” or “our company” refers to Life Cue Consulting, a sole proprietorship, registered under SIREN 990 028 045 (SIRET 99002804500013) and established in France. Our business provides life‑consulting services worldwide.
“site” refers to the website life‑cue.com, which is built on the Squarespace platform and operated by Life Cue Consulting.
“you” refers to every user of the site.
This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, why we use it, with whom it may be shared and the rights you have. It has been drafted in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), French data protection law and, for residents of California, the provisions of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Applicable Laws
Our business is subject to the GDPR and French data protection law. The GDPR applies not only to companies established in the EU but also to those outside the EU that offer goods or services to people in the EU or monitor their behavior. The GDPR requires that personal data be:
processed lawfully, fairly and transparently;
collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes and not further processed in a way incompatible with those purposes;
adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for those purposes;
accurate and kept up to date;
stored for no longer than necessary; and
protected against unauthorized or unlawful processing, loss, destruction or damage.
Processing is lawful only if one of the following legal bases applies: the individual has given consent; the processing is necessary to perform a contract with the individual; it is required to comply with a legal obligation; it protects vital interests; it is carried out in the public interest; or it serves legitimate interests that are not overridden by the individual’s rights.
For California residents, we also comply with applicable provisions of the CCPA. If there is a conflict between this policy and the CCPA, the state law will apply.
Consent
By using our site, you consent to this privacy policy and to the collection, use and retention of the data described below. Where required by law, we obtain your specific consent through a positive action, such as ticking a box or clicking an accept button. Valid consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
Personal Data Collected Automatically
Our site does not install tracking cookies without your consent and does not automatically collect data that identifies you. Only technical cookies strictly necessary for the site to function (for example, for session management) may be placed without consent.
Personal Data Collected Manually
We collect only the information necessary to provide our services:
Contact form – When you contact us via the site’s form, we collect your first name, last name and email address in order to reply to your request.
Booking or online order – When you make an appointment or purchase a service, we may collect your first name, last name, email address, phone number, date of birth and postal address. These details are necessary to prepare our services (for example, to send confirmations or invoices).
Payment data – Payments made through our site may be processed by a secure payment provider, such as Stripe. Not all transactions necessarily use Stripe, but when they do, the payment details you enter (including your name, contact information and payment method) are transmitted directly to Stripe for processing. We do not collect or store your full credit‑card number or other payment identifiers. Stripe may collect additional technical data (for example, device and usage information) for fraud prevention and analytics. For more information, please consult Stripe’s privacy policy and cookie policy.
We will always indicate whether information is mandatory or optional (marked with an asterisk).
Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing
We use your data only for the following purposes:
To respond to your requests and contact you;
To perform the contract when you book or purchase services;
To manage our commercial relationship, including issuing invoices or sending information relating to our services;
To comply with our legal obligations, in particular accounting and tax obligations;
To communicate information about our offers and news, if you have consented to receive our newsletter or communications.
We process your data only on a legal basis provided by the GDPR, such as your consent, the necessity for contract performance, compliance with a legal obligation or our legitimate interests.
Data Recipients and International Transfers
We do not sell or rent your personal data. Your data may be shared only in the following situations:
Technical service providers and processors: we use providers for hosting the site, sending emails and processing payments. These providers act on our behalf as processors and are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal obligations and judicial proceedings: we may disclose your data if required by law or to defend our rights.
As part of ongoing professional development, we may discuss anonymized case material with course supervisors and peers. All personal details are removed or altered so that individuals cannot be identified, and no identifying information is shared.
If your data is transferred outside the European Union, we ensure that the level of protection is equivalent to that required by the GDPR. The GDPR stipulates that the protection must “travel” with the data, requiring one of the following: an adequacy decision from the European Commission, standard contractual clauses, binding corporate rules or a specific derogation.
Retention Periods
We keep your data only for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected (processing your request, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations). After this period, it is deleted or archived in an anonymized form.
Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or accidental destruction. For example:
Access to email accounts and management tools is restricted to authorized persons;
Form submissions are encrypted (HTTPS protocol);
We select service providers that offer a high level of security.
Nonetheless, despite our efforts, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we undertake to notify the relevant authorities and affected individuals of any data breach in accordance with the GDPR.
Data on Minors
Under the GDPR in France, people under 15 years of age are considered minors for data collection. The consent of a legal representative is required for the processing of a minor’s data. We do not intentionally target minors and ask parents or legal guardians to contact us if a minor’s information has been provided without authorization.
Your Rights
As a data subject, you have the following rights:
Right of access: obtain confirmation that personal data about you is processed and, where it is, access to that data.
Right of rectification: request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): request the deletion of your data when its retention is no longer necessary or when you withdraw your consent.
Right to restrict processing: request the limitation of the processing of your data in certain cases.
Right to data portability: request that your data be provided in a structured, commonly used format, or transferred to another controller.
Right to object: object to the processing of your data, notably for marketing purposes.
Right to withdraw consent at any time when consent is the legal basis for processing.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL) if you believe that your rights have not been respected.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our site uses cookies to ensure that it functions properly and to analyze traffic. The site is built on the Squarespace platform, which uses essential cookies for technical operation (such as maintaining sessions and enabling basic features). We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site and to improve our services.
In addition, our payment provider may install cookies or similar technologies when you proceed to a payment. For example, if your transaction is processed by Stripe, Stripe’s scripts set cookies that are necessary to provide a secure checkout and to detect fraudulent activity. These cookies are functional and essential for completing a payment and therefore cannot be refused if you wish to make a purchase. For details on Stripe’s use of cookies, please refer to Stripe’s cookie policy.
We respect your privacy and comply with the GDPR and CNIL recommendations by obtaining your consent before installing any non‑essential cookies. When you first visit the site, a cookie banner will appear, explaining the types of cookies we use and offering you the choice to accept or refuse analytics cookies. Cookies that are essential for the site to function cannot be refused.
Google Analytics sets cookies that collect aggregated, anonymized information about the pages visited, the time spent on the site and your approximate geographic location. This information is used only for statistical purposes and does not allow us to identify you. For more details, you can consult Google’s privacy policy.
